Nature of the content
Body Lab publishes educational content. It describes anatomy, movements and physiological mechanisms from identified scientific sources, with general understanding as its goal.
This content is not medical content. It constitutes neither a diagnosis, nor a prescription, nor medical advice, nor a therapeutic recommendation, nor a personalised training or nutrition programme. It addresses no individual situation and takes account of no medical history, symptom or ongoing treatment.
The anatomical descriptions correspond to a reference anatomy. The three-dimensional models represent an average build built for teaching purposes: they reproduce the exact anatomy of no person.
Health disclaimer
Using this site does not replace a consultation with a healthcare professional. Any pain, injury, persistent discomfort, known condition, pregnancy or ongoing treatment warrants professional advice before any physical activity, and takes precedence over the content published here.
A page may indicate that professional advice is appropriate in certain circumstances; it never passes judgement on a particular case.
Ownership of the assets
All the content published on Body Lab — text, illustrations, three-dimensional anatomical models, animations, videos, transcripts, subtitles and interface elements — is produced in house for this product.
The 3D models and the videos are neither licensed third-party assets nor extracts from external anatomical databases. They are created for Body Lab and remain the property of the publisher.
That implies two simple rules. The content may be read, shared by link and quoted with the source named. It may not be copied, reused, redistributed, built into another product or exploited commercially without prior written permission.
The bibliographic references cited designate work published by their respective authors; they are mentioned as sources and remain the property of those authors and their publishers.
Limitation of liability
The content is published as it stands, following the editorial chain described on the methodology page, with its review dates and its declared limits. Despite those checks, no guarantee of completeness or freedom from error can be given: knowledge evolves and a page can become partly outdated between two reviews.
The publisher cannot be held liable for the use made of the information published, nor for the consequences of physical practice undertaken on that basis alone. The decision to take up physical activity, and the way it is conducted, rest with the person concerned and, where relevant, with the professionals supporting them.
Links to Shapier or to any third-party site are provided as a practical extension. The content of third-party services is a matter for their own publishers and their own terms.
Reference language
Body Lab is published in French and in English. The French version is the reference version: content is produced in French, then translated. Should the two versions of a page diverge in interpretation, the French version prevails.
Every page states its language, its publication date, its last review date and its next review date.
